Description: |
With the roughened jaw inserts in place and the "cradle" free to pivot it is a conventional pipe wrench. With the "cradle" solidly set and the roughened jaw inserts removed, the pipe cutter wheels are exposed and it is a pipe cutter.
Rothenbucher put a company together to manufacture the tool, and recieved patent no. 775,581 in November 1904 for a chain wrench version. Rothenbucher had several patents relating to pipe, and produced a screw-adjust pipe wrench advertised in 1915. |
