Description: |
The wrench has a spring nut-retainer in the box end, and the drawing shows an "alligator wrench" end, internal wrench openings, and a circular "finger hole" to rapidly spin the axle nut.
Produced as the "IDEAL" and with the names of buggy and implement manufacturers cast in the shank. Instead of the alligator jaw, these have three open end sizes.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes the patent under Erie Tool Works, Erie, PA.
Corresponding British patent GB-190308245 was registered April 9, 1903. |
