Description:
The locking means is a cam on the lever handle which passes a roller on the side of the intermediate link.

Pugh's parallel patent (no. 2,496,309) shares many features, and appears as LANG'S SURE GRIP CHICAGO PAT 2496309 locking pliers on pg. 48 of Don Snyder's "My Second Thousand Wrenches", and as SHUR GRIP CO. PAT. PEND. ROCKFORD, ILL. The end of the center link adjacent the adjusting screw in the SHUR GRIP CO. PAT. PEND matches the center link in this patent rather than the one shown in 2,496,309.

The specifications cite patent nos. 449,627, 1,445,280, 2,206,251, 2,259,216, and 2,280,005 as references.
