| Description: | | The tool has interchangeable pipe jaw and cutter heads that insert in the fixed jaw. The movable jaw adjusts by means of a threaded rod extending to the end of the handle.
One known example is worn and pitted so no markings are visible. Another is marked "T. CHATWIN PATENT."
Late 1870s directory ads for Thomas Chatwin, Birmingham (England) include "PATENT TUBE CUTTER & WRENCH COMBINED," but do not include an illustration to verify that product corresponds to this patent. | |
