Description:
This specialty pliers are for metallic buttons or studs that fasten to fabric by bent metal prongs. The pliers has a socket inset in one jaw to accommodate button heads, and grooves in the opposite jaw to make the prongs curl as the jaws close.

Improved by Heaton's Sept. 21, 1875 patent (no. 168,016) and October 19, 1875 patent (no. 168,994).
