Description: |
The handle connects to two arc-shaped segments. The wrench sits on top of the jar lid, and has serrations on the inner surface of the rims of the arc-shaped segments to grip the jar lid. This wrench will only work on one size of jar lid.
A Forbes Chocolate Co. ad in the May 14, 1903 IRON AGE shows this TRIUMPH FRUIT JAR WRENCH along with the T&B FRUIT JAR WRENCH (patent no. 688,224) and T&B FRUIT JAR HOLDER. June 1903 HOUSE FURNISHINGS REVIEW notes Forbes Chocolate Co. was also producing the PERFECTION Fruit Jar Wrench and PERFECTION Fruit Jar Holder. Another ad calls Forbes "Successors to TARBOX & BOGART." |
