This pliers type tool has several size holes in the flat jaw corresponding to several sizes of telegraph wire, "ears" with notches to hold wire ends, spring tension to hold the tools in closed position, and loops to hang them on a belt hook. Two pairs of these nippers would form a "lineman's splice" in smooth wire. |
