Alloy Artifacts connects the patent to the WAKEFIELD No. 24 ratchet used for hex drive socket sets produced by the Wakefield Wrench Co. of Worcester, MA. A known WAKEFIELD No. 8R ratchet / socket set bears this patent date. Ads for such sets appear after formation of the WAKEFIELD "All Steel" WRENCH Co. in 1924.
Another known example is marked only PAT. JULY 12, 1910, on a tool with the ratchet on one end, and a hammer head and tapered poll on the other.
