Stan Schulz Cronk Hanger Co. Biography of William Cronk
|
Description: |
The sliding button adjusts the jaw width; the patent shows a locking knurled nut. The adjustment mechanism was used on both adjustable "alligator" wrenches and nut wrenches like those shown in pictures #29, #450, #451, and #574 in "Antique and Unusual Wrenches" by Schulzes.
Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" gives a brief history of the manufacturer.
Patent no. 618,485 uses a very different principal of slide at the intersection of two slots. |
