This was patented by Birdsill Holly after he moved from Seneca Falls, NY to Lockport, NY. In Lockport, he founded the Holly Mfg. Co. to manufacture his inventions. Although know for his tool patents, Birdsill Holly's main line of inventions were in the steam heat and drinking water distribution fields.
