Description: |
The patented features include the shape of the adjusting knurl, the tension spring to hold adjustment, means to keep the pin from inadvertently loosening, a hex box wrench in the end of the handle, and the hammer poll on the back side of the fixed jaw. Some early Crescent wrenches that include "PATENTED" on the handle may be referring to this patent.
This patent came several years after Crescent began manufacturing wrenches of this type. Peterson's patents before 1906 (e.g. nos. 735,289 and 794,249) relate to a business involvement that pre-dated formation of the Crescent Tool Company. |
