Stan Schulz LODI , PARAGON pliers (1897 Strellinger catalog)
|
Description: |
The patent is for pliers formed of metal sheet, stamped and formed into a complete "half" including the jaw, and including a spring around the pivot pin which tends to open the pliers. This is an improvement on Bernard's May 6, 1890 patent (no. 427,220) and the basic concept which appears at greater length in Canadian patent CA-35,834 granted Jan. 20, 1891. The specifications note parallel foreign patents.
Wm. Schollhorn Co. used this patent for LODI and PARAGON pliers and related tools. See also patent nos. 848,877 for a "closed handle" form and 866,253 for a modification of these ideas to produce a nipper.
