This locking pliers is a complete re-working of Fischer's July 2, 1940 patent (no. 2206251). In this patent the movable jaw is mounted in a handle formed from a folded stamping which straddles and is free to slide along the shank of the fixed jaw. The adjustment is accomplished by a screw in the handle of the fixed jaw. The adjusting screw is attached to the movable jaw by a linking bar.
