Jackson's improvements to his June 5, 1900 patent (No. 650,974) are the connecting link and an extended lever that allows the user to retract the jaw while holding the wrench by the handle. This patent was used on the larger sizes of Jackson pipe wrenches; smaller sizes match 676,318.
