Description: |
The patented feature is the shape of the threading dies which would guide the dies to re-shape and follow existing threads on a bolt rather than cut new ones. The specifications also note the preferable form of the tool is to have the handle ends shaped as the wrench heads shown in the drawings.
The double-end alligator wrench with dies based on this patent is physically nearly identical to the HAWKEYE wrenches based on patent no. 720,554. Examples are known marked "Patents Pending" and with the patent date.
See also patent nos. 825,401 and 828,859 for the Edmonds-Metzel "PERPETUAL GRIP" alligator wrench patents. |
