Description: |
Extended externally threaded and fluted tube serves dual function of adjusting the moveable jaw and forming most of the wrench handle. The design structurally is similar to Hewet's June 27, 1840 patent (no. 1,659). Mfr. / agent name taken from Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930." Martin Donnelly's mjdtools auctions offered one marked "W.L. Miller, 479 1st Ave., New York, New York." Other examples have a Croton Falls, NY marking and local histories of Westchester County NY note a Mr. Miller having a wrench factory at Croton Falls. |
