This is a really interesting design for a parallel rule that uses a third rule pivoting of one of the main arms to allow the tool to be used as a square or protractor, as well as to measure the distance between the parallels.
In the drawings, the parallel arms are also pointed at one end, so that the tool can be used as a simple compass or dividers, but the manufactured piece did not have this feature. |
