Description: |
This caliper uses a very clever bit of geometry to ensure that the scale
that is used for reading the distance will not be affected by wear of the
caliper points. The ends of the arms are shaped such that they match
the radius of their motion, so even as they wear the scale will remain
accurate.
The inventor refers to this as a "self-regulating" caliper.
