Description: |
Construction designed to prevent the rule from being "stretched" at the joints. One plate has an abrupt walled projection with a complementary recess in the other plate which is wider at it ends than the middle. Bodmer's patent 928,174 is listed as an example where the an endwise pull will cause the spring to yield and "stretch". |
