Description:
This patent relates to the manufacture of wagon tongues. In 1904 such components were already becoming obsolete because of the rapid development of motor vehicles, and the manufacturer, Borg & Beck, pivoted to manufacturing clutches and other automotive-related products. In 1928 it merged several other companies to form Borg-Warner Corp. (now BorgWarner), which remains one of the largest automotive suppliers in the western world. The Borg & Beck name lives on through a UK company, Borg & Beck Co., Ltd., which was set up in 1931 to manufacture Borg & Beck clutch products under license.
