Description:
A central movable jaw with its adjusting nut has a smooth upright surface facing a smooth upright jaw on one side, and a tapered surface facing a toothed upright jaw face on the other side.

Features of the wrench appear in earlier Friede adjustable angle wrench patents (nos. 525,318, 525,683, and 525,684). The patent date is also cited in an ad for the STAR PIPE WRENCH (Friede pat. no. 546,142).
