Description: |
The patented features are the slotted cutting blade which limits the depth of the cut, the blade being able to rotate slightly in relation to the handle, stops in the handle to limit the blade rotation, and a coil spring to return the blade to "neutral position."
The specifications and drawing also note the end of the blade shaped as a "potato eye remover" although that feature is not among the claims.
The EKCO NEE ACTION PAT NO. 2232940 peeler shown with the patent drawing has cutting edges on both sides of the slot, and no coil spring. An outwardly identical peeler is marked A&J MADE IN USA PAT NO 2240410.
The cutter also appears in parallel patent no. 2,232,941. |
