Description: |
The basic wrench structure in this patent represents the MOLE SELF-GRIP WRENCH as produced in the mid-1950s. (One source says MOLE added a release lever in 1953.) The specifications cite French patent FR-1100105 and U.S. patents 2,462,789, 2,500,261, 2,523,385, 2,574,676, 2,592,803, 2,592,807, 2,598,650 and 2,664,774 as references.
The release lever in the MOLE SELF-GRIP WRENCH pivots from the lever handle and bears on the toggle link rather than on an extension of the main handle as shown in this patent.
The structure of the release lever as produced appears in Coughtrie's 1973 British patent GB-1332711 for a bench clamp to hold a MOLE SELF-GRIP WRENCH. |
