Description:
This sander/grinder uses a single wheel and a sanding belt that is just slightly greater in diameter than that of the wheel. When the sponge-rubber wheel is turning rapidly, it expands in diameter which allows it to firmly grip the belt. This patent was subsequently improved in patent 2,377,880, and that patent number was seen on a Craftsman "Multi-Purpose Grinding Wheel" from Sears, Roebuck & Co. We believe the Craftsman product was manufactured by Mermac Products, Inc.
