Description: |
Rueb had a series of ratchet patents assigned to Sherman-Klove. 1,981,526 and 2,232,477 appear on known production examples, with several additional "intermediate" designs which featured a "two-faced" pawl in the head engaging fine teeth in the surrounding frame.
The design in this patent is quite different, with two pawls operating on the outside of the rotating head piece.
Correspondent Stephen Barbee supplies photos of an unmarked ratchet matching the appearance in this patent, with a note suggesting S-K produced it perhaps for some "private label" brand. It does not appear in Alloy-Artifacts' SHERMAN-KLOVE chapter.
Cited as "reference" in Vogel Double-Drive Ratchet patent no. 2,803,980. |
