Description: |
The shank with the fixed jaw has an offset between the hollow handle and adjusting nut. The movable jaw has a loop that slides on the flat shank, and a threaded portion which extends into the hollow handle. The wood portion of the handle is little more than a shell, and is often missing from surviving examples.
Walker later patented pipe jaw and pipe cutter attachments for the wrench (patent no. 194,488) and secured British patent protection for the wrench and attachments (British patent GB-187701912). |
