Description: |
| Teeth on the handle engage rack teeth on the movable jaw. The threaded rod and nut serve as a limit stop or adjustment lock for the movable jaw. The teeth on the handle disengage from the jaw rack teeth when the handle is set at right angles to the jaw, which allows the jaw to be reset in relation to the handle.
Beach's parallel patent (no. 112,109) has a similar adjustment mechanism for a pipe wrench. |
