Reversible ratchet with internal "trianuglar" rocking pawl having teeth on opposite ends. The end with teeth engaging the teeth on the internal surface of the surrounding frame is held in place by one of a pair of springs. The external adjusting "knob" has pins which compress one spring and relax the other. 
An early model marked "PEND" and "42470" in part has internal structure and external appearance corresponding to this patent.
 Other examples? -- The patent number appears on an S-K WAYNE 40970 1/4" drive ratchet; the outer appearance of the tool is identical to a 1/2" drive ratchet marked with pat. no. 2,232,477. The patent number also appears on an S-K 45170 3/8" drive ratchet.
