| The fourth McKibbon patent -- (the previous ones are 1,423,499, 1,709,589, and 1,730,671 )-- has a modified adjustment screw, and a modified form of the base of the movable jaw. This patent shows a single jaw structure designed for gripping pipe. The "KIBBON KATCH-KWIK" pipe wrench incorporates aspects of this patent as well as the prior ones. The shifting action of the movable jaw tightens the grip. |
