Description: |
A projection on an external adjusting ring shifts a rocking ratchet dog to engage teeth cut in the internal surface of the extended shank of the tool.
A screw through the shank engages a groove in the ratchet head to hold the parts together.
The ratchet driver based on this patent also uses the sliding rod handle and handle position retaining spring described in Ayer's Sept. 26, 1916 patent (no. 1,199,737). The alternate shifting means described in patent nos. 1,199,737 and 1,199,738 are not used in the tool as manufactured. |
