Description: |
| The design of the swinging jaw segment allows ratchet-like action. The wrench grips five sides of hexagon nuts -- that action is clearly shown in the corresponding Austrian patent AT-62039. See also corresponding patents from Britain [GB-191019234], and Canada [CA-130,472].
The wrench was noted in a November 16, 1911 AMERICAN MACHINIST article which identifies a German manufacturer and U.S. import agent. Examples appear in a H. Wilke ad in a 1922 book about Remscheid and products made there. |
