Description: |
This pencil sharpener has the pencil mounted into a holder which presses the end of the pencil at an angle against an abrading strip of sandpaper or a file; the abrading strip is mounted on a carriage which can be slid laterally beneath the pencil. The pencil holders has a string wrapped around it whose ends are affixed to either end of the carriage, so that as the carriage is moved back and forth the pencil rotates. The Office Museum website show an example of this pencil sharpener, but it is not clear whether this example is a manufactured product or a model, e.g., the patent model. |
