Description:
Henry J. White was the superintendent of the Empire Wringer Co.

Abstract:

My invention relates to improved clamps for securing clothes-wringers to wash-tubs, and is particularly adapted for connecting the wringers to the side or partition wall of stationary and porcelain wash-tubs.

My invention consists in a novel construction of a channeled clamping-bar having ribs projecting inward from the side flange, in forming in the channel on the bottom face a series of notched teeth, in mounting in the channel a clamping jaw adapted to move through the channel and be held at any desired point of adjustment by the teeth of the ratchet, and in providing the bar with an arm in which is mounted clamping-screw.

Claim:

A clamp having the bar made in channel-iron form, with ribs projecting from the side flanges and with ratchet-teeth formed on the inner face of the bar and provided with an arm having a clamping-screw mounted therein, and with lugs or ears on its outer face for connecting the same to a wringer, in combination with a clamping-bar adapted to move in the channel, provided with a tooth to engage the teeth of the ratchet.
