Abstract:
This invention provides simple, effective and novel mechanism for elevating a portable or traction engine for any desired purpose, this mechanism being applied to the engine and adapted for use at a moment's notice for raising or lowering the engine, as may be required, the hoisting mechanism being readily operable by means of the engine or adapted to be operated independent of said engine.
Claim:
In an engine of the portable or traction type, hoisting mechanism applied thereto and comprising lifting-bars mounted in vertical guides applied to opposite sides of the engine 95 and having corresponding vertical edges provided with cog-teeth, vertical shafts, worm-pinions applied to said shafts and in mesh with the cog-teeth of the lifting-bars, and a transverse shaft geared to each of the vertical shafts for simultaneous actuation thereof. |
