| Claim:
An object of the present invention is to provide an improved holder for a small tool bit suitably housed within a body member and adapted to be readily mounted within the ordinary tool post of a lathe, planer or the like, there being mounted a in the holder a bar adjacent the tool and in the that they will be broken up or deflected away from the work. Another object of the invention is to mount this chip breaking means directly above the cutting surface of the tool over which the chip passes, the breaker being adjustable to several positions relative to the cutting edge so that for different depths of cut or classes of work being operated on the breaker may be laterally positioned relative to the cutting edge to obtain the necessary breaking, up or deflection of the chips or cuttings with a minimum of power absorption. |
