| This patent is a relatively early example of a horizontal band sawmill. The goal of this invention was to make a lightweight high-capacity sawmill that could be made portable so that it could be moved to the logs rather than transporting the logs to a sawmill. This one uses a traveling saw-head and a fixed log bed, which is nowadays the most common arrangement of portable sawmill. |
