Jeff Joslin "Trowel Collector" history of Germantown Tool Works
|
Description: |
Assignee Germantown Tool Works was established 1858 as George Selsor's hammer and axe works in Germantown, Pa. At some point before 1871 Samuel F. Wilson and John R. Griffith took over Selsor's works, though this patent suggests that Selsor may have maintained some kind of association with the business. In about 1919 the Germantown Tool Works became the Griffith Tool Works, which survived until 1977. Under either name their products were stamped with their "GTW" logo. |
