| The inventor was president of machine tool maker Johnson & Biddle Tool Co. In 1926 there were ads from Paragon Keyless Lock Co. of Elkhart, featuring the lock shown in this patent. An article in the 1927-09-01 American Machinist announced that Paragon Keyless Lock Co. had been established to manufacture this patent lock; the principals were Biddle and Eric H. Johnson, who were also the principals of Johnson & Biddle Tool Co. A factory had been secured and equipped, and production of the lock was expected to begin September 15. However, so far as we can tell the lock never actually reached production and the company disappeared. |
