Description:
Here, G.S. Forrest takes his original patented gage (297371) and adds a bunch more marking members to it.

The primary change in this piece is that the "runners" which held the sliding arm inside its sleeve in the original are now sliding rods with marking points on them. These new markers would have been extremely difficult to adust and would not have held their position particularly well, making this "improvement" a step backwards.

The only known example is marked with the manufacturer's name and patent date, but no mention is made of the inventor.
