Description: |
This patent covers a very simple locking mechanism for the arm of a marking gage. The thumbscrew pulls up a notched rod, which bears on the arm to lock it in place. Very simple, easy to produce, and works well.
I do not know if this piece was every produced commercially, but the same basic idea was improved upon in Lucius Barret's widely produced 1894 patent (530468).
