Joel Havens "Vintage Machinery" entry for Brazelle Engine Co.
|
Description: |
The innovation is to mix cooler atmospheric air with the exhaust gases to reduce load on the engine cooling system. This patent was subject to litigation between the Leschen & Sons Rope Co., and the inventor. Leschen had had a contract with Brazelle where Leschen would pay for Brazelle to develop an engine based on an idea that Brazelle had already developed. Brazelle developed the engine and applied for what became this patent and 1,022,178. |
