This is a toy electric motor made to look like a steam engine. It uses an electromagnet in combination with a switch to produce oscillatory motion of the connecting rod, plus a crankshaft and flywheel to convert to rotary motion. This patent was used in toy engines produced by Manhattan Electric Supply Co. (MESCO), which was based in New York with their factory in Jersey City. |
