Description: |
Combination pipe and nut wrench with a primary rack and pawl "rapid" size adjustment. There are paired pawls with the teeth on one a "half-step" advanced from the other. The rack moves in a dovetail in the main shank, with a compression spring to push it toward the handle, and a screw adjusting nut to move it toward the jaws. This provides the secondary "fine adjustment."
The gripping jaw on the pipe wrench side pivots and is held in gripping position by a spring.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-62,995 was granted April 27, 1899. |
