Woods had several patents matching products listed by the Woods Specialty Co., Granville, NY ca. 1898 - 1902. In later years, he appears in corporations associated with his patents in several places including Toronto, Cleveland, etc.

In a lawsuit seeking to recover investment in Woods Specialty Co., H.T. Seymour was one of the "plaintiffs" and H.T. Pember one of the "defendants."
