| "It is known to me that all of the different cold-tire-shrinking machines of this kind which have been invented up to this time are not sufficient in strength to shrink the heavy tires of large wagons, floats, and other vehicles, so the said machines are only used to shrink the tires for light vehicles, and it is the object of my invention to overcome this difficulty and provide a machine which will have sufficient leverage and strength to shrink the tires of the heaviest vehicles..."
By late 1903 the inventor was in St. Louis and manufacturing his invention under the name S. N. House. In 1904 the business incorporated as the House Cold Tire Setter Co., and remained in business until at least 1921. |
