Stan Schulz Todd's patent nippers (FLICKR - Noel Hankamer)
|
Description: |
Todd's first version of nippers; the patent covers the shape of the replaceable cutters, and includes the optional adjustment stop. See also Todd's subsequent nipper patent 285,446. Nippers marked "TODD'S PAT." were likely produced after Todd sold his manufacturing company in 1893. Todd nippers were produced well into the 20th Century. 1916 ads showing TODD IMPROVED nippers produced by T. D. Hotchkiss Co., Deep River, CT show cutters similar to those in this patent.
By the 1960s, TODD and CAREW [viz. pat. # 170,334] nippers were produced by M.W. Robinson Co. (New York City, with factory at Rockfall, CT). |
