| Improvement to Hussey's January 20,1891 patent (no. 444,937).
Both sides have "hook" fixed jaws and toothed gripping pieces on the movable jaw.
The NIAGARA WRENCH COMPANY was incorporated at Albion, NY in December, 1892 under the laws of West Virginia in relation to the Hussey patents.
Martin Donnelly suggests the Hartford Hardware Company produced it, in his writeup for an example with the patent date the only visible marking. That wrench includes a combination screw / quick adjustment on the main shank and head features closer to the earlier Hussey patent (no. 444,937). |
