Description: |
This self-adjusting pipe tongs has an interchangeable cutter jaw. The spring closes the jaws. The cutter is a wedge, and is forced into the pipe by a large wing-nut that bears on the main shank.
The pipe-cutter is the primary focus of the patent. The patent received a write-up in the Nov. 4, 1878 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. |
