Description: |
Designed for finishing bearings surfaces and ream/finish holes of varying dimensions. This reamer design uses an adjustable semi-circular shoe (preferably made of wood) to vary the effective cutting diameter for the reamer by moving the shoe longitudinally. The cutting bar is tapered and a corresponding tapered slot is on the shoe allowing the diameter to be adjusted while keeping the shoe parallel to the cutting surfaces. This allows one shoe to provide a range of diameters and additional shoes to provide even greater versatility. Wooden shoes are recommended in that they can be easily made and "facilitate the rotation of the reamer in the opening." |
