The wrenches citing this patent have square sockets with triangular indentations in the middle of each of the four sides, without any of the other features noted in the specifications, and with a variety of markings including MILLERS VEHICLE WRENCH, MILLERS AGR'L WRENCH, St. LOUIS WRENCH CO., etc.
Corresponding Canadian patent CA-35,643 was granted Dec. 20, 1890, and British patent GB-189104362 was registered March 11, 1891. Both U.S. and Canadian patent dates were noted in advertising for Miller's Vehicle Wrench.
Miller patented an improved version (patent no. 485,290, issued Nov. 8, 1892). That patent notes the multiple open end wrenches on the handle end. |
